The story of Vibe Tribe didn’t start with a name or a logo. It started with a drum. With movement. With the heartbeat of Bermuda.

The Gombeys are more than performance. They are the language of our people. A rhythm that carried us through generations. What began as an act of resistance became an expression of freedom, art, and identity. Every step, every mask, every color tells a story about who we are and where we come from.

Vibe Tribe was founded in 2023 by Vaughronde’ and Lisa Joseph, two artists and culture bearers with a shared vision to keep that story alive. Both are deeply rooted in the island’s Gombey community and have dedicated their lives to the craft. Vaughronde’ found his love for the arts through the Gombeys and has been dancing for nearly 30 years. Lisa brings the same passion through her design and artistry, creating regalia that captures the beauty, power, and soul of the culture. Together, they do it all by hand, every mask, every stitch, every hat, made with intention and pride.

Their debut at the Bermuda Gombey Festival marked the beginning of something new. A fresh chapter that honors the roots while reimagining what the future can look like.
